During my introductory internet marketing seminars, I have met several people who has some basic knowledge about internet marketing and often ask me if they will benefit from attending my seminar. Of course, you can guess the answer!

Today I will like to highlight the common misconceptions of internet marketing and why most people are destined to fail right from the start.

Assumption 1 – Internet Marketing is the holy grail of making money online

No, internet marketing is simply one of the tools to promote your business to the masses. It is indeed one of the most powerful tools to promote your business with minimal budget, however by itself, the impact is minimal.

Truth – The most important core is knowing how to market your product or service, then the profits made from internet marketing will be accelerated.

Assumption 2 – All forms of internet marketing are profitable

It is true that there are success stories in all different types of internet marketing, like ebooks, blog ads, local businesses and affiliate marketing. The more important question is what are you good in? When I started internet marketing, I did try all different types of internet marketing and made some money in different aspects of it. However I realized that I made the most money from local businesses and within a very short period of time.

So I chose to specialize in local business marketing. And made my money from there.

Truth – everyone will be particularly good in one form of internet marketing. Chose to specialize in one aspect of it and decide to learn all the tips and techniques to earn good money from there.

Assumption 3 – Internet Marketing Success is never consistent

For me, I learned internet marketing the hard way. I tried all different types, did well in some and didnt do so well in others. To succeed in online marketing, there is really a process and system to generate profits through the internet. Follow one expert instead of several experts because they all have different techniques and there is a chance that if you model and utilize several processes, your profits will get arm-locked in confusion too.

Truth – to succeed online, there is a system to generate income. Identify which way you want to succeed. In fact, it might cost you more to follow several online experts instead of following one because you will get confused. Follow the exact processes of one expert, keep finetuning it until you perfect it and expect to enjoy the profits. Also, the cost of ignorance can be most costly than the cost of a seminar.

I have met several people during my introductory internet marketing seminars who really want to change their lives and generate leads through the internet but worry about the cost of the seminar. The truth is if you keep taking the same action, nothing about it will change, including the money you earn. So unless you decide to take massive action and educate yourself for success. your life will continue to be the same.
