Live Your Life Now, Not Tomorrow, Not Next Year

Over the weekend, I met up with my friends for drinks. I really enjoy catching up with them because I get to relax. An interesting conversation with a friend got me thinking about this new topic. Live your life now, not tomorrow nor next year.

Most people often say, when I am 30 or 40 years old, I will launch my own business because it is the right age. When I settle down into my job, I will sign up for this business course. And it is easy to delay living your ideal life because it is the safest thing to do.

During my seminar, when I meet people who are undergoing difficult transitions in their life, I say Congratulations! There are moments in your life when it becomes painful and you can barely stand being stuck in the same situation for a single minute. It is because the universe has a bigger plan for you and is stirring it up, waiting for you to take action.

Before I started my internet marketing business, I was in a painful transit period for nearly 2 years. It was not obvious outside but inside, I felt that there was something bigger and was simply uncomfortable. The sad fact is most people need a kick in their ass to get moving to their passions. Most people rather follow the designated society’s journey, the typical corporate ladder. It is easy to hide behind the nice pay cheques and unfulfilling work. I am also referring to myself in this situation.

My advice to people is “Live your life now, not tomorrow nor next year.”

So what to do now?

  • Identify your passion

Recognize what motivates and inspires you. Follow that gut feeling and simply pursue your dream in tiny incremental steps until it becomes closer and closer. So that you do not need a big painful situation to shift out of your comfort zone.

  • Surround yourself with the right people

Share your dreams with people. For me, the process starts with sharing my dreams and somehow in me, I believe it and assume it is already occurring. Stay with people who support your dreams, regardless of how ridiculous it sounds. You want people who help lift you up, not pull you down because of their own fears. If someone discourages you, it is because of their own clipped wings.

  • Take one step at one time

Simply follow one hint, like a tiny bread crumb and watch it snowball into your ideal situation over time. You can never predict what the tiny steps you took today will manifest into your dream reality tomorrow. Just keep taking one step forward and improve over time.

With these 3 easy and simple steps, you will be surprised how far you can propel ahead with your dreams. Most people often keep their dreams in the shadow, only to find them faded with regret when they re-vist them.

It is the end of 2010 and its time to be playful and joyful. It is time to believe in your dreams and finally craft your dream life, TODAY.

  • Once again, you are absolutely spot on. You have much insight in one so young. I think that there is something that you have mentioned before did not specifically this time though you did allude to it in your second point and that is to find a Mentor.

Till we hear from you again, may you enjoy continued success.
